This year we will have our End of the Year Awards ceremony in our classroom. It will be followed by a breakfast reception and our Talent Show. Your children have thought of ideas for their performance. We will have time to practice at school. Please talk with them about their choice and encourage them to practice at home! We will be working out more details this week.
This week in Reading Workshop...
We will be using all of the strategies we have learned while reading each day. We are revisited many genres this week including fiction and nonfiction. We are discovering how sensory details help us fully understand a story.
This week in Writing Workshop...
We will be focusing on using the Writing Process as we wrap up our Family Writing and create stories. Our writers have grown so much this year. We can't wait to share all of our progress with you at KnOWLedge Night!
This week in Math...
We will be practicing comparison subtraction. Comparison subtract deals with two quantities and you have to find out how much more one is than another. We will apply our math strategies to problem solving. We will solve a variety of problems to practice these strategies.
This week in Science...
We will wrap up our learning on Plants. We will discuss the function of plant parts and why they help our environment. We will learn about the interdependence of plants and animals in our community.
